Send me your poems! November assignment - Sound Poems

10/27/2013

I will be posting poems by teenage girls on my blog each month. For November, the assignment is a poem using words that describe sounds, like crackle and bonk. Please email me a video of you reading your poem along with an attached copy of the poem to insidevoicesatthegirlaquarium@gmail.com by November 30. Can't wait to hear from you!

I just wrote a sound poem called "Poetry Reading for the Gods," which I posted on the home page of the Web site for POPLab, a new organization that uses performance poetry to enrich people's lives. You can see it on www.POPLab.weebly.com.

    Meet the Author

GINA grew up in Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with BA degrees in journalism and English with a focus on poetry writing. She met her husband, Victor Inzunza, while working at The Bay City Times. After marrying, she worked as a freelance reporter and photographer as she raised her three daughters. She studied film production and worked at a local TV station in Lansing, making short films on the side with her family. She served on the East Lansing Film Festival board and helped with the children’s film festival by running filmmaking workshops. In 2010, her play version of this book was selected for the 2010 Midtown International Theatre Festival in New York City, where she now lives.
